BMP libraries for Ruby

• MiniMagick runs ImageMagick commands from Ruby. It reads every common BMP variant and writes BMP2, BMP3 and V4/V5 files, including 16-bit subtypes for embedded displays.

Pure Ruby image gems such as ChunkyPNG don’t read BMP, and libvips (ruby-vips) loads BMP only when it’s built with ImageMagick support. For one-off conversions, MiniMagick or the magick command line is the simplest route.
