CBZ libraries for Python
Two good options, depending on how much comic logic you want written for you:
- zipfile is in the standard library. It reads and writes ZIP with random access; you add natural sorting and
ComicInfo.xmlparsing (xml.etree.ElementTree) yourself. A few lines each. - comicbox is a comic library: it finds pages, picks the cover, and reads and writes ComicInfo.xml, MetronInfo.xml, ComicBookInfo and CoMet metadata, merged into one dictionary. It also opens CBR, CB7 and CBT. LGPL-3.0.
- comicbox Read CBZ comic pages, covers and metadata in Python with comicbox: ComicInfo.xml, MetronInfo, ComicBookInfo and CoMet merged into one dict.
- zipfile Read and write CBZ comic book archives in Python with the standard zipfile module: pages in natural order, cover extraction, ComicInfo.xml with ElementTree.
