TIFF libraries for Java

• ImageIO has a TIFF reader and writer in the JDK since Java 9 (javax.imageio.plugins.tiff). It handles multi-page files, tiles, LZW, Deflate, JPEG and CCITT compression and gives access to all tags. Start here.
• TwelveMonkeys is a set of ImageIO plugins. Its TIFF plugin also reads BigTIFF, old-style JPEG, CMYK with ICC profiles and other files the JDK plugin rejects. Add the jar and keep using the ImageIO API.

For GeoTIFF in Java use GeoTools or the GDAL Java bindings.
