WebP libraries for C/C++

For C and C++ use libwebp, Google’s reference implementation. Every other WebP library on this site either wraps it or reimplements part of it. It has a one-call API for simple decode and encode, an advanced encoder API with every tuning option, libwebpdemux for animation and metadata, and libwebpmux to edit chunks.

General image libraries such as libvips, ImageMagick, SDL_image and Qt’s image plugins read and write WebP by calling libwebp. The single-header stb_image does not support WebP.
